Review Process

Mansoura Medical Journal operates a double-blind review process. Manuscripts may be rejected without peer review by the Editor-in-Chief if they do not comply with the submission guidelines or if they are beyond the scope of the journal. The manuscript editor checks the scientific level of the manuscript and decides whether to invite a referee. If the manuscript editor decides that the scientific quality of the manuscript is not good enough, then he/she gives a "reject" decision and sends the manuscript back to the Editor-in-Chief. If the manuscript editor decides that the manuscript has a high scientific quality, then he/she invites one or more referees (reviewers). Referees either ask for minor revision or major revision, accept without revision, or reject the manuscript. Based on the referees' reports, the manuscript editor asks for minor revision or major revision, accepts without revision, or rejects the manuscript. If the manuscript editor decides a revision, then the manuscript is sent back to the authors to make the revisions, else the manuscript is sent to the Editor-in-Chief.
